Sword Coast Legends coming to PS4/XB1

on

If you were wondering if Sword Coast Legends would make it’s way to consoles, wonder no longer! The Dungeons & Dragons party RPG is going to bring PS4 and XB1 players to the Forgotten Realms setting alongside players on PC, Mac, and Linux. Sword Coast Legends developers n-Space and Digital Extremes made this announcement after a great deal of acclaim and clamoring for the game to come to more systems.

“They wanted Mac, so we’re doing it. They wanted Linux, so we’re doing it. They clamored for console… so we circled back and figured out how to do it without compromising our vision for PC gamers. This addition to our existing PC, Mac and Linux versions ensures gamers will be able to have that classic D&D experience whenever, wherever and however they want.”

Sword Coast Legends is the ambitious project hoping to bridge the gap between the tabletop D&D games and video games with it’s Dungeon Master Mode, allowing for a fifth player to adjust the game in real-time and adapting to the actions that players take. Of course, that’s not to say that the game won’t have a robust single player. In fact, the developers have stated that game features:

  • Massive story campaign
  • Complex storyline weaving throughout the exotic Forgotten Realms’ Sword Coast
  • Deep character customization, engrossing party-based gameplay and NPC interaction
  • Highly customizable combat and challenging monster encounters
  • Campaign creation tools for extended multiplayer adventures
  • The latest streamlined fifth edition D&D rules
  • Robust post-launch module expansion program
  • Epic orchestral soundtrack from composer Inon Zur

You can currently find Sword Coast Legends available for pre-order on Steam and at the Playstation Store at a discounted $34.99. The game also comes in a Digital Deluxe Edition and a Collector’s Edition with a ton of goodies, all viewable and available to purchase on the official site. I’m getting more and more excited as we get closer to the game’s release, being a fan of the Neverwinter Nights games and the tabletop game, so I’m gonna encourage everyone to check it out. In the meantime, check out some of the screenshots we could procure from the developers and leave your comments down below!

About David A. Reeves

David is a 25 year old graduate with a BA in English, and he's wondering how all of this adult stuff crept up on him. He has a large love of Fire Emblem and Final Fantasy, a lack of budget sense during Steam sales, and is involved in an abusive relationship with the MMO genre. Outside of gaming, David can be found reading books with swords and magic, suffering from writer's block on that story he said he'd write, enjoying a hookah or a beer with friends, and trying not to say anything inappropriate despite the overwhelming urge. He's an odd fellow.
