Nintendo and Netflix Developing Legend of Zelda TV Show

on

Reports from the Wall Street Journal reveal that in Netflix’s bold push for original content, we may be seeing a surprising addition: a life action Legend of Zelda program. According to the report, Netflix is describing the program as ‘Game of Thrones’ for a family audience. Excited? Disappointed? Don’t be just yet. This so far is closer to a rumor than official word as Ben Fritz hasn’t cited a source other than “a person.” Also according to the report, the production is still looking for a writer and is only in the earliest of stages.

There’s definitely a long wait until we will see anything official. Both Netflix and Nintendo have not commented on the report, but a man can dream, can’t he? Netflix’s track record with its original programming is outstanding, and I have no reason to believe they would do anything different with an IP as large as Nintendo’s. Am I probably being too hopeful for a Legend of Zelda TV show? Well excuuuuuuuuse ME, Princess!

And now for something completely different.
