5 Awesome Cosplays at MAGFest 2015

on

MAGfest, one of our 5 game conventions to attend this year, ended the other week and left us with both smiles and tears. The whole experience is rated highly by the people who attend each year, and perhaps one of these years I will eventually haul myself down to the National Harbor for it. Luckily for people like me who didn’t get to go, we can still see the convention captured through pictures and videos. I’m a huge junkie for cosplays, so I decided to gather up 5 awesome cosplays at MAGfest 2015 that really stood out to me. Take a look at these gems!

Foxy the Fox

Foxy the Fox

Our first cosplay on this list hails from the land of Tumblr where one user posted this picture of Rika Keener‘s Foxy the Fox. With how massive Five Night’s at Freddy’s cult has become, I’ve been waiting to see someone pull off one of the characters. This costume does not disappoint me, especially with how well it was put together. The head piece itself looks like it was very time consuming, and it looks professional done. Horrifyingly satisfied, Rika!

Catherine

Catherine

Hero Hotties blesses us with this gorgeous picture of Catherine whose costume is made by Bubblesgal0re. It’s not uncommon to see Catherine as a choice of costume, but Bubblesgal0re is one of those who really fits the role to a T. From the pose to the endearing look, she’s got this photo shoot under her control. The outfit is spot on, and while the wig is a toughy for cosplayers, she’s been able to make it look as natural as possible.

Genderbent Ganondorf

Genderbend Ganondorf

If you’re unfamiliar with Ely Renae‘s genderbend version of Ganondorf, this is the best time to get acquainted. Captured by Jeff in all her glory, she sports the look in a fantastic fashion that I have not seen anyone even compare to. Other Legend of Zelda characters have already been genderbent for costume play, but her Ganondorf takes the cake on this one. I am always stunned by how detailed the armor is and how well she sticks to the style of Gerudo clothing.

Captain Falcon

Captain Falcon

Yenra Photography nabbed this fabulous Captain Falcon showin’ off his moves. While the costume is gorgeous in itself (I’m staring at the details on the boots especially), the fact this guy looked ripped makes the Captain look even more realistic. Whether it’s foam stuffing or his actual muscles, it was a good choice for the character. Oh, and don’t forget about the helmet. Pretty rad if you ask me.

Zangief

Zangief

As soon as I saw this picture of Sev‘s cosplay of Zangief, I knew it’d be perfect for this list. Taken by John Jiao, this photo is a national treasure. I mean, just look at those muscles… the beard… the chest hair. For the love of all that is holy, this cosplay takes the cake on this list with its sheer awesomeness. Way to go, Sev, on being such a bad-ass!

About Adam Watson

Adam Watson was addicted to video games way back when he was a wee kid, pretending to be sick just to stay at home from school and play on the SNES. Now at the age of 24, he's found a way to study for his Physics degree and play video games in the same day. He's acquired enough Lifetime Happiness Points to get the Meditative Trance Sleep reward so that he has more time in the day to do all of this.
