Evolve

Evolve is from the same people that brought us Left 4 Dead. There is no denying that the first game defined a prominent era for the Xbox 360. It gave us a fun Co-Op FPS experience that was never really explored before. Evolve is doing for the Xbox One/PS4/PC era what Left 4 Dead did for the Xbox 360. It’s giving us a Co-Op experience, but with a heavy twist. That twist is a fifth player, who is working against you. I got to play the game at E3 this year, then again in the closed alpha on PC, then during the Big Alpha. I have to say, I was impressed. The more news I hear about the game, the more excited I get. The developers are talking about all these maps, all the game modes, the hunters and the best part, the monsters. The game is currently on the right track to be one of the best games of 2015 and it is getting released during Q1. Watch the trailer here.

Disgaea 5

NISA’s most popular franchise is getting the PS4 treatment in 2015. Personally, I love the Disgaea franchise. It is challenging, fun, and brilliant to look at. And the story is pretty damn great too. Yes, I’m including Disgaea 3. While the combat is rather inconsistent, the games all share their common gameplay style that in unique to that version of the game. That is until the Vita version of Disgaea 4 was releases and basically everything from the previous games was added in. The new game looks great visually, but I want to know what they will do with this game that is different from Disgaea 4. I really think D4 was the pinnacle of the series in terms of gameplay. Ratchet and Clank

It is no secret that I love Insomniac Games. I make that very apparent in my Sunset Overdrive review. The Ratchet and Clank series is probably one of my favorites of all time. The Ratchet and Clank movie has me so hyped, and then I saw the news that Insomniac Games is going to be rebooting RaC for the PS4, well, remaking the first game. When someone remakes a game I always expect a reboot now. But it has been just over twelve years since the first one has been made. I can deal with a remake.

Scalebound

Platinum Games, you know those guys. Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance and Bayonetta 2 in recent years. It’s easy to say that this company knows how to make a solid action-adventure game. Scalebound is still shrouded in mystery from this year’s E3. A supposed Xbox One exclusive, Scalebound certainly had a wicked cool announce trailer but those can really be misleading. I hope we get some new news about this game pronto.

Fable Legends

Yet another game that is a Xbox One/Microsoft exclusive, Fable Legends is taking that positive feedback from Evolve regarding the 4v1 gameplay, and throwing it into the Fable universe. I personally am not the biggest fan of the Fable series. The first one was too short to be called a RPG. The second one was a total mess story wise, and the third game lacked a hook to keep me playing. However, what I saw at E3 for Fable Legends got me interested. A dungeon crawler Co-Op game with a fifth person setting the traps and unleashing the monsters, it sounds pretty damn cool and I want to see how Microsoft can showcase the unique gameplay.
