Confirmed: Lindsay Lohan Suing Rockstar

on

According to the Associated Press, Linsday Lohan’s suit vs. Rockstar games has been confirmed. Lohan’s lawyers officially filed the lawsuit in Manhattan this afternoon.

Their lawsuit alleges that the character Lacey Jonas from Grand Theft Auto V is a direct reference to Lohan, including everything from her clothing line and her voice style.

According to Philly.com, the lawyer also alleges that the image of Jonas in the red bikini on the cover and promotional materials is very similar to a photo taken of Lohan in a pink bikini (though I’d say the jury is still out on that one since Kate Upton seems to fit the model nicely). Lohan’s lawyers are demanding unspecified damages, though due to the games overwhelming success, chances are the damages will be quite high.

In my VERY limited legal understanding, parody, satire, and the ability to reference in media is legally protected…. or so I would think. Then again, I am not a lawyer. Still, I can’t help but feel like  this is Lohan trolling for attention and/or money. The lawsuit is ridiculous, but then again there are stranger.
