FFVII May Be Getting Unconventional Remake

Fans of Final Fantasy VII have been demanding a remake of their beloved game. Unfortunately, SquareEnix has been rather strongly opposed to making its customers happy for quite some time now. The good news is that hasn't stopped fans from trying!

According to the official website, the remake is being made mostly to play tribute to the game while the creator also learns how to use the Unreal engine. So far it looks like it's going pretty well. The screenshots are rendered decently, however the animations aren't quite top notch obviously because they are still learning. From the sounds of it, it won't be the complete game, but perhaps enough interest will inspire him or others to work on updating the game for a modern audience.

You can read more about the probject at the creator's website.
