Are you tired of getting destroyed every time you log into a competitive FPS game? Doesn’t it seem like all of the other players just have an edge on aiming or reaction time? That’s all too often the case, and unfortunately that can make things fairly difficult for players who want to get competitive, but just aren’t there yet.
There are a few problems with training in the games themselves. You can’t train everywhere, your opponents skill levels may vary which will give you false feedback on your skill, and there are no specific ways to measure your improvement. Fortunately, there is a way to get around all of these problems.
The Russian website, AIM400KG.ru has created a few simple Flash based aiming games. They are designed to help you find and hit a target fast, aim precisely, and increase your button-pressing reaction time. The measurements are incredibly accurate and the games can be pretty unforgiving. If you want to know how you stack against other players you can register for the website which boats more than 130,000 members, and duel against each other, or simply compare scores. The more you practice, the higher your overall score gets, and even better: the better you get at twitch-style FPS.
The biggest limitation here is obviously that this doesn’t 100% translate over to console FPS games, but it may be quite helpful in raising reaction time in general.
